कोलकाता : राममोहन सम्मिलानी पूजा से वापस लौटते समय, जैसे ही काफिला राजभवन के भव्य द्वारों के पास पहुंचा, माननीय राज्यपाल डॉ. सीवी आनंद बोस ने हार्दिक अवलोकन किया – जन राजभवन उन द्वारों के भीतर नहीं था, बल्कि बाहर था, जहां वंचित लोग रहते थे। राजभवन, कोलकाता द्वावा जारी प्रेस विज्ञप्ति के अनुसार राज्यपाल राममोहन सम्मिलानी पूजा से लौटते समय
आसपास के गरीब वंचित बुजूर्ग बच्चोंं में मिठाई, मॉं दूर्गा की मूर्तियाँ और पूजा करने के लिए पैसों की मदद की । जारी प्रेस विज्ञप्ति के अनुसार जिन झुग्गियों से वे गुज़रें वे महज़ अवैध बस्तियाँ नहीं थीं उन्होंने गरीबी की कठोर वास्तविकता का प्रतिनिधित्व किया जिसे राज्यपाल संबोधित करना चाहते थे। काफिला नदी के किनारे की ओर मुड़ गया, जहाँ गरीब लोग अत्यंत अभाव में रहते थे। इस दृश्य ने राज्यपाल को बाबूघाट पर अचानक रुकने और हतप्रभ बच्चों, महिलाओं और वरिष्ठ नागरिकों के साथ समय बिताने के लिए प्रेरित किया। उनका उत्साह बढ़ाने के लिए, राज्यपाल ने त्योहारी सीजन की खुशी का प्रतीक मिठाई वितरित की। कुछ को माँ दुर्गा की मूर्तियाँ भी दी गईं, जबकि अन्य को पूजा मनाने के लिए वित्तीय सहायता मिली।

On the way back from Rammohan Sammilani Puja, as the motorcade approached the imposing gates of Rajbhavan, the Hon’ble Governor Dr CV Ananda Bose made a heartfelt observation – Jan Rajbhavan was not within those gates, but outside, where the underprivileged resided.
The slums he passed were not mere squatter settlements; they represented the harsh reality of poverty that the Governor wanted to address. The motorcade diverted towards the riverside, where the impoverished lived in utter deprivation. The sight prompted the Governor to make an impromptu stop at Babughat and spend time with the bewildered children, women, and senior citizens. To lift their spirits, the Governor distributed sweets, symbolizing the joy of the festive season. Some were even given Ma Durga’s idols, while others received financial aid to celebrate the puja.
